The basis for the new development is the Boker Plus Vigtig outdoor and bushcraft knife, designed by Dave Wenger, which, due to its dimensions (total length: 19.7 cm, blade thickness: 4 mm), is designed for the toughest requirements. The blade steel chosen was Magnacut, which, unlike the tool steels commonly used, was developed specifically for the manufacture of knives. This steel, which has been described as a "miracle steel", has managed to achieve a very fine structure and, therefore, high durability and shock tolerance, despite its high chromium content of 10.7% and impressive hardness of over 61-62 HRC.
Combined with the True-Scandi grind, the stonewashed blade defies any challenge that arises, from fine cutting and carving work for camp construction and firewood preparation, to slashing and chopping, to handling game. The two green micarta canvas handles have been kept slightly flatter than in the original version and ensure a perfect grip even when wet. A special feature is found on the inside of the handle. Instead of hollow pins, the two large screws can be easily removed with the help of a coin, revealing a spacious compartment with a depth of 14 mm compared to the outer dimensions of the handle, where tweezers, lighter, charcoal tablets, a fishing kit and safety pins can easily fit, for example. Even as a skeleton knife without handle scales, the Boker Vigtig vs. Wild, made entirely in Solingen, has an elegant appearance and emphasizes the versatility of the special model.
The scope of delivery is completed by a compact Kydex sheath in black with clip.
