Despite their extremely robust leather construction, Harkila managed with the right design and combination of materials, to limit the weight of the Forest Hunter Mid GTX to just 740 grams each. The Forest Hunter Mid GTX have an 18cm mid shaft. and slightly wider outsole. In the construction of the shoe, Harkila created extra space around the toes, providing in addition to comfort and more room for toe movement when wearing thick socks during very cold temperatures. The Forest Hunter Mid GTX have a waterproof and breathable Gore-tex MS Advanced recycled membrane. During manufacture, all of the boot's membranes are tested in a water bath to ensure they are waterproof and 5% of their production is subjected to 30 minute spin tests as an extra guarantee that the membrane is of the highest possible quality. The upper part is made of Nubuck leather, they have a Vibram sole of medium hardness for excellent grip, as well as a midsole for shock absorption, comfortable walking on long distances or very rough terrain.
